Chinese, yes? Japanese, yes? But Korean? Even if it's a little-known cuisine in these parts, you are bound to come away pleased by the flavours at Hae Kum Gang, one of Bangalore's two Korean restaurants. The place is kitschy and the staff speak only halting English, but a meal here can be a revelation. If the menu confounds you, simply order the set meal, which gives you a glimpse into this wonderful cuisine. There are Kimchi Pancakes for starters followed by Roast Pork, which you eat with lettuce, a pungent dipping sauce, chillies and raw garlic. Accompanying the meal are rice and a host of mini-dishes like Greens in Sesame Oil, Pickled Radishes, Baby Potatoes and more.

Hae Kum Gang has a decent, simple yet elegant ambiance. It is really beautiful to be there. The feeling of sitting at the place like this is amazing. It is relaxing, calm and all very breathtaking. Food is great. They have Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisines. Food is all really very nice. I like their Kimchi Pancakes and Roast Pork. Also, chillies and raw garlic with rice and Greens in Sesame Oil, and Baby Potatoes are awesome in taste and delicious. The presentation of the food is good too. Service of the place is excellent and prompt. Overall, it is a wonderful place.
