When Kanua opened a few years ago, it was to not only showcase Mangalorean cuisine but also to preserve it, in a sense. Set in a warehouse-like building, it captures the architectural grace of homes on this stretch of the coast. The idea is to create a welcoming setting, with no synthetic flourishes. The food is authentic Mangalorean and Konkani fare - using the freshest seafood and indigenous vegetables and condiments from the region. The Fish Curry is impeccable, eaten with Panpole or Neer Dosa, and so is the famed Chicken Ghee Roast. There are other unusual additions like the Suran or Yam fry and Stuffed Bottlegourd.

Kanua is for those who love home cooked Mangalorean cuisine. I have been coming to this restaurant because of that reason only. Their Fish Curry is superb in taste and also Chicken Ghee Roast is equally good. Kanua serves its food in lavish quantity and also at the same time the food dishes are reasonably rated.

The most lovely thing about "Kanua" is its welcoming decoration that attracts one and all. Kankani and Mangalorean cuisine is the specialty in Kanua. So combine fish curry with neer dosa or panpole to create taste miracle. Also Chicken Ghee Roast is a must have in Kanua.
