With the surge of bhadralok in Bangalore, Bengali cuisine restaurants for all pocket sizes are burgeoning. Panch Phoron named after the popular Bengali Five Spice Masala is a modest eatery catering to the office goers and students. The ambience is simplistic but looks neat. Order a home-style set meal which can be combined with Bhetki Paturi(Sea Bass steamed in Plantain leaves), Golda Chingri Malai Curry (Scampi cooked in a thick creamy Coconut gravy) or simple but flavourful seasonal Bata Maacher Jhol. One can also try the Moghlai influenced Chicken Rezala with Mughlai Parota. This place is not extravagant but makes up for it by being affordable. If you are missing home-style Bengali Food, this can be your destination of choice.
