The Ranoosh- Lebanese
Get a taste of Arabic salads, kebabs and grills in downtown Bangalore. Middle East origin Chef Ali Mkram at The Ranoosh serves Lebanese/Arabic food using exotic ingredients. You can't miss this bright Red building next to the Residency Road/ Double Road flyover.
Decor 3
White marble floors, red chairs and black tables are the elements here. Arabic music from pillar-mounted speakers adds to the ethnicity. Located on 2 levels, the ground floor is alcohol free, a welcome consideration for conservative families. Or you may opt for the 1st floor level to have a drink with your meal.
Food 3½
We liked the convenience of touch pads which give easy access to the menu and demystify this cuisine to first timers. On offer is a selection of dishes including classics such as falafel, tabbouleh, hummus and dolmas which are grape leaves stuffed with parsley, rice and tomato and then steamed in olive oil and lemon juice. The star attraction here is the samke harra — grilled fish with a trio of peppers simmered in tomato and chilly. If you are not very adventurous try the shishtawouk — chicken breast marinated and char grilled, served on oriental bread with french fries. Do try the sinful umm ali- puff pastry baked with cream and nuts. The restaurant has now opened a take away desserts counter and you can pack away some rich sweets like baklava.
PLUS and MINUS
Most of the time you may be greeted by Chef Ali Mkram who will explain this cuisine with passion. Don't compare the kebabs with the Indian versions for these are very lightly spiced.
The restaurant has no wheel chair access.
The Ranoosh is open seven days a week.

The place is a nice and cozy one. I went here with my friends. The ambience of the place is good and pleasing. The best dish that I liked was kebabs. I also liked the way the service was taken care of. The prices are a little high but the quality and the service was good enough to compensate it.

The kebabs available at the place are not-to-be missed, they are just awesome just like the service staff here. The division between the alcoholic and non-alcoholic visitors makes it an easy to visit and comfortable place to visit. o try it.
