This elegant restaurant is as exotic as its name. It opened just recently but has already become quite popular among locals. Tucked away in the quiet lane of Pappanas Street, just off the restaurant cluster of St. Marks Road, Zaffran specializes in hearty North-West-Frontier-Province fare. They can be rated as one of the best in North Indian and specially North-West-Frontier cuisine in the city of Bangalore. Starters that looked tempting were the Zaafran-e-Raan and the Gosht Tikka, but since we were only two, we chose the latter. It was well done and soft, the aromatic spices just showing through. You must try their Murgh Mussalam-e- Zaffran with a crisp Garlic Naan. Smothered in a rich gravy, it went well with the Naan which was liberally topped with garlic and cooked to perfection. The Gosht Biryani was delicious and the rice and lamb chunks were perfectly cooked whilst retaining the aromas. Weather permitting; you can opt to be seated in their lovely patio section.

I loved the paneer tikka and Galouti Kebabs as both were so yummy and well-cooked. The place offers you an extensive menu to choose from. But, unluckily i was not in much mood to have a full-course meal, so i ended it at the starters itself. Will surely try it with my complete gang of friends once visited with them.

We had been to zaffaran to celebrate a special occassion. We had booked a table for 14 ppl but on reaching there we were told by the manager that it was not possible for them to provide us with a table tht could accomodate us(not because the place was full but because he did not want to). On asking him as to why he took the booking he had the audacity to say that we did not mention that we wanted to be seated together..He made no efforts to even sort out the situation and while his other staff was trying to arrange a table he asked them not to talk to us and attend other people.. This kind of unhospitable behaviour was really unexpected from a place like zaffaran as it was one of our favorite hang out but now i would never enter that place again.

Just loved the kebabs in starters. I visited it twice until now, and could only relish salmon tikka and Murg Kebab. Waiting for my next visit to have a full course meal. Simply superb!
