Chennai-based Benjarong now has a branch on Ulsoor Road, situated above their other newly opened restaurant - Ente Keralam. Benjarong has the usual decor with porcelain artefacts and fruit carvings as you enter. One can opt to sit in the open-air balcony, weather permitting. The food is suitably toned down to pander to the Indian palate, however, one could ask for the food to be made spicier. The daily set lunch is reasonably priced and starts with a ginger-lime drink and Mia Khom - a kit of lettuce leaves and condiments meant to be assembled by the diner according to taste. This is followed by the soup, salad, starter, main course of rice and curry and a dessert. The Gai Haw Bai Toei (chicken) is redolent of the sweet aroma emitted by the pandanus leaf in which it is wrapped before frying. Seafood lovers should ask for the Soft Shell Crab with Roasted Chilli Paste.

The very distinct interior of this restaurant is pleasing and keeps your senses busy till the time food is delivered on the table. The food is also unique and it has been prepared in such a way that its hard to get over the taste of the food. I am a non vegetarian and seafood lover and from their menu Shell Crab is my most favorite dish.

What i like Benjarong is that they serve the food just the way you would love to eat. The complete meal here starts with ginger-lime drink and covers everything from soup to dessert.
The chicken Gai Haw Bai Toei is a real treat for the non veg lovers and also in seafood just try Soft Shell Crab with Roasted Chilli Paste. Go to Benjarong and just try these things....highly recommended.
