Often considered as a green bowl only good for health conscious eaters, salads have been stereotyped for way too long. In the current context, salads are actually just as innovative and delicious as other dishes served in gourmet eateries. With different flavours, ingredients and sauces added to it, this leafy summer appropriate treat has found a prominent place in restaurant menus, and we list the seven best ones worth forking into.
Prawn Salad with Mango, Yauatcha
You may have already been in love with the dim sum served at this hot spot, but we were pretty impressed with their precise yet interesting offering of salads. Junior Sous Chef, Kushal Lama told us that the Prawn Salad with Mango is only served at their Kolkata outlet, since the city loves seafood and the kitchen decided to play around with local flavours. The bowl of salad comes with poached prawns resting on four types of seasonal lettuce and topped with a dressing of sweet chilli, garlic and cubes of raw mango. Doesn’t that sound just right for the heat!
