Stepping into Zaika is like walking into a film set of a heritage movie, set in a dak bungalow in an obscure location. The restaurant has seen better days — that much is clear from the Spartan decor. Polished wood tables set with tired damask napkins and elderly waiters creaking out of the kitchen with your order. This place used to be a franchise holder of Moti Mahal but in Chandigarh, not only franchisees shift loyalties, but fashions come and go with ease. Hence, you will get a decent if not great Paneer Lababdar, Murgh Punjabi Masala, Dal Makhni. And the film set comes for free.

The food is decent Indian and its not the reason why I come here. I mean there are better places in the city for better quality food, however the ambience and interior of this restaurant is not so common and so it attracts me the most. Its like some old place with some hidden mystery, in short it needs some renovation but otherwise with friends this place is fun.
In food, the regular Punjabi food is usually good and worthy of your money.

The old movie set like interior of Voodoo Zaika is a quite different restaurant in Chandigarh. I like coming here since day one as the ambience actually takes me to some other place right at the heart of the city. In food, north Indian and tandoori rocks in here and I am fond of their Murgh Punjabi Masala and Paneer Lababdar. Voodoo Zaika is a favorite of many people in my known circle and they regularly visit this restaurant for food and ambience.
