Critic's Review

Let's get jiggy with it right away. And groove to beats of the alphabets of dance. Vishnu (Prabhudeva), a choreographer with an elite dance academy is unceremoniously ousted by the ambitious and artistically inept head honcho, Jehangir (Kay Kay).

The reason is simple. Their ideologies are out of sync - Vishnu believes in true talent, Jehangir trades talent for trophies and TRPs. The former says it's about 'performance', the latter claims it's about 'packaging'. Vishnu is on the verge of giving up, until he spots a gang of footloose street-dancers performing at a Ganesh Utsav. He tangos with chaddi-buddy Gopi (Ganesh) to train them to compete in a dance reality show. They set the dance floor on fire, but not without their grooves, greed, lifts, let-downs, flip-ups and fragile egos. And of course, some 'hip-hop'-hurrays too!

In the film, Prabhudeva says, "Dance apne aap mein ek nasha hai. Jab yeh nasha ho, aur koi nasha nahin ho sakta!" Bingo! And when he takes centerstage, your jaw drops and heart leaps. He acts a bit, emotes in parts, but dances in a rhapsodic high.

Ganesh Acharya lends support but is overbearing at times. Kay Kay moonwalks through his part; spewing arrogance and attitude in style. The film introduces a host of new faces (in a kickass chase sequence), of them Salman, Dharmesh, Punit and Lauren are show-stoppers.

With India's first 3D Dance film, Remo puts his best foot forward. The film lacks dramatic-density, but the minute dance breaks in, all hell breaks loose. This isn't a 'step-up' from anything you've seen before. The 3D impresses in parts with predictable routines, but he pitches the emotional tempo towards the end. The grand finale act is spectacular, better than all reality shows strung together.

This movie isn't about the A-to-Z of dance; but if there's rhythm in your body this one will move you. To the nearest floor.

I watched this solely for the dance numbers and came out thrilled. a very good execution. However Prabhu Deva is still lacklusture as an actor. It is best if he is reserved only for dance and no talking.

I came to this movie somewhat late. Prabhudeva in this movie acted very well. He proves himself to be an incredibly excellent actor, unless yourt tastes lean towards those over-acting hammers as actors. He should act more. And can he dance! Wow!

If you try to remake step up in Hindi, ABCD is what you will come up with. If they make a few more they will understand excatly how it is done.

Truly a very good movie. Very enjoyable for dance lovers. Remo D' Souza has brought out the movie and the acting skills in DID stars. The ending will keep the audience watch the last dance again. Climax may seem to be similar to other movies but audience will be hooked to the movie throughout. 3D effects are not noticable

He should have made a dance reality show in any of the national channel with some 40 episode would have been more beneficial for him. Its just like watching a reality show and nothing else. no story

A bold step towards future of Indian cinema. Really a trend setter. Acting can't be a factor for judgement as it is primarily focused on dancing and has dancers, not actors. You want to have fun, pay a bit extra and go for 3D version.....you will be breathless at many occasions and it will touch your hearts.

Remo and Prabhu Deva, with all respect, please stick to CHOREOGRAPHY!!!!! Well, this is totally my opinion of the so-called "India's First 3D Dance movie". Man....that tag line itself was so over-hyped. Bad story, horrible acting(especially Prabhu Deva), decent music and F.A.L.T.U direction. Dance was the sole winner in this movie. When Prabhu Deva speaks, I could help but laugh and wonder "what the hell is happening". There were instances where I got furious too. Having said that, India's best and the most excellent dancer is Prabhu Deva. My respect. But this movie was more sort of a dance show! Though all the dance sequences were amazing. What I've learnt and decided after seeing this movie is - No more watching movies directed by Remo! Waste of money and time. It's better to see a dance reality show :P Story - 3/10 Direction - 2/10 Acting - 3/10 Dance - 11/10

I wasted my time wondering what was I expecting. The complete movie looked like a poorly portrayed drama with no dialogue sense & story line. It was very difficult to connect all the actor-cum-dancers with the reel life. The 3-D projection in the movie & hard-work of dancers is undoubtedly appreciable but it made me feel like I have seen better on dance soaps on television than this movie. Personal rating to this movie is 2/5.
