Azzuri Bay overlooks beautiful tree tops and in the distance, you can actually see the Adyar river confluence with the sea. The ambience here is something only very few restaurants can rustle up. Right before the tiny lift that takes you up to this restaurant, a huge, calm white Buddha sits with a fountain flowing out of his hand, giving you an idea of what to expect. Opt for a window table if a view is what you'd like as you eat. The restaurant seats 140 people and is well equipped for those romantic candle light lunches or dinners for two, just in case you want to pop the question in romantic surroundings. A family restaurant otherwise, it has people coming over for lunch even on a Monday afternoon. Azzuri's Italian, Thai and Mediterranean cuisine are definitely more popular than the Chettinad food on the menu, as a choice mainly for their die-hard South Indian food lovers. Its Italian Grilled Shrimp is a must try. Equally popular are their steaks, Garlic Pepper Fish and Pizzas. Desserts are always needed to top up a special meal, and the Double Chocolate Gelato is a dream come true for chocolate lovers. Equally divine are the Mississippi Mud Pie, Ice Kachang and of course, the perennial Hot Sundae. The chef, though, recommends Apple Pie and Fried Ice Cream. Make sure you book in advance, though, for this is a very popular space and you need to tell them if you want anything unusual done.

Azzuri bay is clearly one of the finest mediteranean/far east asian stand alone restaurants in Chennai.The restaurant is situated off malar hospital down the gandhi nagar club road.
The restaurant is in the same building that hosts another popular restaurant Crimson Chakra.The restaurant is on the second floor if im not mistaken and has some additional seating on the first floor.The second floor is more like a roof top outdoor seating with high wooden chairs and canapes.It also has a small glass room next to the out door seating.
The Ambiance of the restaurant is pretty interesting for those of you looking to go on a special date as the outdoor seating looks up to the sky.
Coming to the food:
Absolutely top notch!!Whether its the far east asian or the meditaranean,the food is well cooked,well plated and tastes fab..!!
Dinner one special night i decide to go with a friend of mine and we sat outside.
We finally decide to do the pepper garlic prawns which was pretty nice.
For the main course we order lamb shanks which were soft as tissue and slid of the bone.
The other main course we ordered was a chicken lasagna which was cheesy and yummy as hell. Do ask them to make it spicy if it suits you palate.
We finally order the dessert,a tiramisu which was quite sad and a chocolate platter like thing which again wasn't anything great.
Other highlights:
1)Steak cooked to your liking
2)something like a cheesy quiche
3)seafood
4)All their red meats.
5)pasta is pretty ok
Verdict:
A must try for every Chennai-ite whether a vegetarian or meat lover.
The whole experience i would call it from the ambiance ,food to the service was bang center.
One of my favorite restaurants for the whole experience.
One of those places i want to give a full 5 star..!!

I love eating out at Azzuri Bay because of its authenticity of cuisine and very generous portions. When I went with my friends the food actually left us all quiet because we were too busy hogging on the food. The Deep Fried Spicy Mixed Vegetables is mouth watering and same fact is true for Double cooked Pepper Chicken. All the dishes are just perfectly prepared with their authenticity intact. Azzuri Bay is always a favorite among us friends and we can go their anytime.
