Situated in a basement of a building in Anna Nagar is The Great Wall. When you enter you know you are in a Chinese fine dining restaurant. A large size Laughing Buddha statue at the entrance welcomes you. The Decor is red and black with gold painted bamboos as little dividers. There is a display of oriental vases and typical Chinese paintings adorn the walls. The waiters are dressed with Chinese style uniform. There is a separate banquet hall attached to the restaurant which can accommodate 35 guests. The menu is elaborate with a wide choice for vegetarians too. The Dim Sum (vegetable, chicken and prawn), Shrimp Dragon rolls, Cracking Spinach and Tom yam Kai are their specialties. Their Pan Fried Rice and Sum Mai Dumplings are popular too. For Thai cuisines lovers, the Red and Green curry are a worth a try. The desserts are Fried Ice-cream, Honey Noddles with Ice-cream and Date Pancakes are favourites. Overall this place is worth a try.

The Great Wall is my little Chinese food place in the city. The red and black interior with Chinese artifacts reminds me of some Chinese movie sequence but the aroma of piping hot food brings me back to reality. The restaurant can also be a venue for small celebration as they have a medium size banquet adjacent to the main dining area. The most popular dishes from the menu are Pan Fried Noodles, Dumplings and Red Curry. The menu is satisfying, interior is serenading and prices are reasonable is what The Great Wall effortlessly offers.
