The Apple Wood Lounge at Anna Nagar, is the perfect dining choice when you are in a group. Since the time it has opened it has gained popularity with students. The starters include the delicious Baguette-all-Aglio-Con-Mozzarella, which translates as garlic French bread with cheese, and the Focaccia Al Pollo, or Pesto with roasted chicken, onion and tomato. You can choose from a handful of salads that are offered or go for familiar appetizers like Chicken Popcorn, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken 65 and Fish Fingers. Try the Apple Wood Salad. The Indian choices include the ever-popular Biryani, Butter Chicken Masala and the Paneer Mutter Masala, while the oriental menu lists Nasi Goreng and Sichuan Noodles in their vegetarian and non-vegetarian avatars. The focus however, is on pizzas, and the speciality of the house is the Firewood Pizza. Apart from the standard Pizza Classic, Margarita and Tri Pepperoni, this Lounge also offers some variations of the theme, like Pizza Verdura, and the Roasti Potato Pizza, and the Pizza Oriental and the Apple Wood Pizza. The Pizza Indiana has an interesting twist - the base has makhni sauce mixed into the dough, and includes Paneer tikka, sweet pepper, onion, curd and cilantro. You can see the wood-fired ovens at work, turning out their aromatic fare. The chef has a generous hand with the cheese. There's a good choice of desserts to wind up with - Irish Gateaux, Hezolate, Tiramisu and Blueberry Cheesecake. Or you could opt for Opera Coffee or Opera Chilly, or the intriguingly named Soft-hearted Chocolate. And in keeping with the accent on pizza, there's a Chocolate Pizza on the menu too!
