This North West Frontier food restaurant, has held it’s own in our city over the years, despite the competition. The simple decor with wooden benches, and rough-hewn tables set a trend even when it opened and still endures. The waiters’ have been a constant as well! What can one say about the food, except that it is in a league of it’s own in the North West Frontier cuisine and had set a bench mark which no one has been able to match. The Indian bread selection are each a dining experience even by themselves, the naans, the famous Roomali Rotis and the yummy parathas. Bukhara Dal has become the bench mark by which we judge dals of other hapless restaurants! It is so flavourful that it could be eaten all by itself with just as simple bread. The accompanying mint chutneys, the paapad starters sprinkled with onion and tomatoes and the finely sliced onions are again served fresh and crisp. The selection of food makes us go dizzy with the taste and smoky flavour of each of our dishes, as we tie our aprons around our neck in anticipation. Sikandari Raan, is a whole leg of lamb, marinated in yogurt and spices, is tender to the point of flaking away from the bone. Murg Malai Kebab is absolutely tender and mouth meltingly delicious, the Peshawari Kebab is another signature dish. The Tandoori Jhinga prawn is again beyond compare. The vegetarians too have a great but simple selection of vegetables and paneers and some kebabs as well. This restaurant has been branded with the super food that has you coming back for more every time.
