One of the oldest South Indian restaurants in the city, Palimar has its share of loyalists, who swear by their Butter Paper Roast and Idli-Sambhar. Though the interiors are swanky, what is missing is the feel of home, which is what made Palimar so special not too long ago. The prices are decent and the food is tasty, but we sincerely wish they hadn't changed their menu so much. They include a bit of regular Chinese and North Indian but you can happily gave it a miss. Some steaming idlis and crisp dosas would have kept us satisfied and coming back for more. The Mysore Masala Dosa is to die for. As the book goes to press we hear that they are opening a new branch in Spectrum Mall, Perambur.

At Palimar you can definitely go for Butter Paper Roast and Idli-Sambhar. However, never ever try Chinese at this South-Indian restaurant. You can certainly give try to crisp dosas like Mysore Masala Dosa. The service of the restaurant is quite good like the food, but décor needs improvement. Palimar is a must to try place for some dosas.
