This Mandarin's a survivor and it's not difficult to see why it soldiers on when the other two branches have downed their shutters quite sometime ago. The trump card is its location, bang opposite the Stella Maris College. The pricing is another plus point as are the portions served. Then there's the rickety, even seedy, staircase that affords romantically inclined youngsters a few cosy moments. Now these are attractions enough for the young crowd. The food's ho-hum and nothing much to crow about. The Prawn Fry makes for a smart starter choice and the Fried Rice is quite good. Among the other dishes that you could try are the Deep Fry Chicken, Ahakk Chilli Chicken and the soups. The dim lighting is rather cleverly done to ensure you don't get to look too closely at your food. If you are the counting cal types, don't even bother climbing those stairs coz Mandarin can happily put your plans awry.
