Located in the huge building of Hotel Shelter, in the busy crowded street of Venkatesa Agraharam Street, Mylapore, Aahar is an apt place for all those who want to unwind over a quite dinner after a hectic week. The best part about Shelter is that the place is sparklingly clean and everyone is ever so ready to offer assistance. On weekdays they have à la carte menu only. Misto de Legume Pizziola, Mushroom Penelope, Andromeda Vegetarian Chillies, Poulet Steak Sizzler, Poulet, Sauté Marengo, Fillet de Poisson Provenale, Prevetites Sizzler, Scampi Annekkai, Chef de Cuisine Special, Fruit Sizzlers, Chocolate Brownies and Fried Ice Cream top the menu and they all are on the expensive side. Their weekend buffet, is a treat. The spread is huge - soup, salads, fruits, starters, Palak Paneer, Aloo Gobi Ki Sabzi, Naan, Papad, Fried Rice, Biryani, Egg Curry, Fish Masala, Dragon Mushroom, Chicken Tikka and Egg Fry. But for Mutton Aficionados, it may be a downer as there are not many mutton varieties in the menu. The food scores good on taste. There is scope for improvement as far as the desserts are concerned. Even though every cliche is there on the menu a little experimentation with pastries or brownies would have been welcome.

Although the place has an extensive menu but their service is not up to the mark. the staff here made us wait for long first for the order and than for the delivery of the same. I was very upset with place as its food was ok but the service ruined i all.
