A Mediterranean treat awaits
As you drive through the Neelangarai arch, remember not to get distracted by the shimmering sea in the distance and look out for Sirocco instead. It is a brand new restaurant that offers Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. I suggest you simply walk in and eat the food there. You'll be happy you did.
For Sirocco has the most amazing food this side of town. Our staff has been trained by a French chef," said Deepak, who owns the place. We nodded, hungry and ready to order.
"Not much variety," I think as I scan the single page menu and go fashionably different with the Parisian Potato and Leek Soup. Good idea. For the beautiful broth was cooked to perfection. Not a flaw could be found in its creamy yellow depths.
Our starter, the Bruchetta Platter had four largish slices of bread, each with a different topping - tomato, olive, mushroom and eggplant - landed on our table. Yummy.
We got lucky, or what? "Let's see with our next order," I cynically thought as Grilled Chicken Skewers with Greek yoghurt arrived. I discovered Greeks make curd with garlic, cheese and olive oil. Our Summer Pizza, loaded with the goodness of fresh veggies and olives, sprinkled with just the right amount of cheese to keep away cheese-related calorie guilt.
There's more. Our main course. It was a vision of nutrition on a platter with succulent fresh prawns cooked in a feta cheese sauce, a generous amount of olives thrown in, a large mound of colourful vegetable salad and couscous.
Finally, just as we were about to collapse into satisfied slumber, complete with silly smiles, the Tiramisu we had ordered - and forgotten - arrived. Could we resist? Not a chance. But, we had ordered just one so the four of us dug in and ate it all."

In this area of the city Sirocco – Kitchen And Lounge is a great food destination for Italian as well as Mediterranean cuisine. The menu seems limited but no dish can be given a pass. Still if I have to name one dish as my favorite then it has to be their Bruchetta Platter. Also other nice preparations are their seafood dishes and Parisian Potato. Sirocco – Kitchen And Lounge is on that area that lacks good eateries and so it is worth traveling the distance for a bite of tasty Italian food.

I visited Sirocco - Kitchen And Lounge recently with my family. We wanted to have something different and full of taste. So we decided to for Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. We stepped and found a good décor restaurant. We settled and ordered Parisian Potato and Leek Soup. Later, we had Bruchetta Platter which was a piece of four breads with different toppings. Sirocco - Kitchen And Lounge not only serves great food, but also has fast and prompt staff.
