Maison des Gourmets at the ever-so-trendy lifestyle shop for food lovers has opened a delicatessen-cum-casual meeting place at Wallace Gardens. It is spacious and gracious with vast glassed windows set beneath an ageing raintree, so you can see the sky. It has masses of forbidden foods from a variety of sliced salamis, hams, bacon ( with their rinds intact ), sausages, frankfurters and chorizos from different parts of Germany and Italy; you can even gaze upon a Black Forest Sausage, that is quite as wicked looking as anything you will find in the tales of the Grimm Brothers. There are pots of Mascarpone cheese and tiny pots of creamy cheeses called Petit Suisse, Blue cheeses and goat cheeses. More than anything else, it's the way that some of their freshly baked items have been displayed that makes the experience so rich and satisfying. They also have a great range of lasagnas, quiches and freshly prepared salads that can be eaten on the spot at their elegant pub-style counter that has frighteningly high bar stools in what looks like plastic, but is actually high quality polymer. There are designer lunches that you can take away with you in a dinky little box.

Exotica at its best, that’s what this store is all about. Very spacious and a perfect ambience to spend your time along with good food...right from cakes and pastries to lasagne and salads...
A great place to visit.
