Silk, Kohinoor Asiana's Thai dining outlet, is strategically located at the lobby level, and is a pleasure to dine at. For here, you get authentic Thai food, cooked by three lady chefs who are from Thailand. The restaurant takes great pride in its artefacts, every single one of which has been imported from Thailand, tables, chairs and linen included. Every evening, Silk has live music performances. What you enjoy most is the effect of the lighting and the quiet tone of the place. Getting down to food, it is best to rely on what the chefs recommend. Thung Thong, fondly called Money Bags because they resemble the age old potli are deep fried fillow pastry filled with minced chicken, shrimp or vegetables and deep fried. The Thai Raw Papaya salad is fresh, tangy and sweet. The rice dishes are robust, stir-fried with chunks of chicken or prawn. It's eaten plain or with any of the sauces, the famous Nam-Plah being the all-time favourite to add that special Thai taste. You can order the Phad thai Noodles too. The soups are hearty with a base of coconut milk flavoured with the sharp tang of lemon grass, Thai ginger and small bird's eye chillies, with crunchy pieces of seafood, or chicken. Not to miss is the Tom Yum soup. It is legendary. For dessert go with the Kaho Niew Naa Sung Kha-Hya in English, it is sticky rice with Coconut Custard topping. It's unique.

Silk restaurant is a beauty to look around and so I like coming here more than often with family, friends and anyone willing to give company. The food is all about the street food from South East Asia and so every item is very different from one another. From Dim Sum to Thai Nam-Plah and noodles everything has a unique taste to them and I completely admire that. The only thing of Silk that I find unmatched in this ambience is the Carnatic live music that somehow does not go with the cuisine.
