A young jobless architect spends a drunken night with a hairstylist he has just met. The two discover the morning after that they had got married the night before. Both want the marriage annulled. But over the next 14 days, a lot happens between the two.
Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) is a 25-year-old boy. He brushes his teeth three times and irons his socks and underwear - everything that his parents want him to do. He is like a puppet living out their dreams and desires. So when he meets Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor) who has dumped six Mr Rights and is everything he is not, sparks obviously fly. Trite, trite, right? Wrong.
With only the faintest trace of the Hollywood hit, What Happens in Vegas (2008), Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu shows what first-rate direction and a cute but brave script can do to the done-to-death story of opposites getting attracted to each other. EMAET has heart, charm and an enviable lightness of being. And it certainly helps that the lead players are in fine form. Like quality wine, Kareena seems to improve with every passing year though you find shades of Geet (Jab We Met) in her part. And Imran brings just that right amount of balance to the difficult part of an uptight, gawky individual who evolves with every passing day. The movie is essentially his journey from boy to man. With its neon lights and flash, Las Vegas too is an important character adding to the film's mood and melody.
The songs are the movie's best friend. They walk hand in hand with the script and become the nuanced voice of its lead players. Few words would have better expressed what Rahul is going through than the line, Jaisa din waisi raat sab dheela lagta hai, aasman bhi kam neela lagta hai. Composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya are among the finest musical team in Bollywood. In EMAET, they are again at their best. The seductive Auntyji (singer: Ash King) and the racy title track have a delightful breeziness. And the more evocative tracks such as Gubbare Gubbare and Aahatein stay with you long after the lights come on.
EMAET is the sweetest heartbreak that Bollywood has conjured in a long, long time. It works both as a college buddy movie and a date movie; for the young and the not-so-young. You can even watch it alone. And if a gorgeous girl asks you for a drink, go ahead, take a chance. As Rahul will tell you, it will be worth every second of your life.

I personally liked the movie. though the story isnt great and is another addition to the bandwagon of similar stories, there is a particular twist at the end that has made the wait till the end worth watching. After all the movie proves thata Girl and a Boy can be friends :p

Tried watching 'Ek main or ek tu' I could take was 45 minutes of it, with our crying out "REALLY!!!!" every 5 minutes.. So here is our take... how did KK start talking to IK in Hindi in the check out counter scene!! IK does not look typical Indian. PLS EXPLAIN KK has no job and no money for rent but spends $60 on a therapist!! REALLY!!! Driving in the middle of the highway with out helmet on a motorized Scooter !! REALLY!! Japanese Business men coming to US to recruit an Architect and cannot speak in English!!! COME ON!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? in the restaurant scene, IK could not have seen the plunging back of his dates dress unless there was a mirror right behind her. the camera was behind her and we as viewer saw it, but not IK. the front of her dress was a higher neck, her arms were covered, nothing showing, but IK got totally flustered when she got rid of her jacket. PLEASE PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!!! OK the last straw on this camels back was the toilet scene. You will never find the hand Bidet in any toilet in the US. It is next to impossible to even buy one and install it at ones own home... I have tried when i moved to this country and looked all over the place, even online sources unsuccessfully !!! well, that was 45 minutes of the movie and we have had enough. I have been proven time and Again that Bollywood makes movies without investing on a good script writer and good research and its contents are based on the lowest common factor of Intelligence. There are no intelligent and smart people in focus groups who review a movie before it is released.

2.5 stars, Really? oh, come on, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is lot better than Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and Jodi Breakers because it has an unique ending than the other rom-coms have, fresh performances, fun moments and songs. And yeah, it has a better script then the disastrous What Happens in Vegas.

Yaaak... endless movie, so the story not less then other movies which has theme that actor/actress is kind of no love mood then letter due to circumstances they spend some time together and start liking each other. only difference this movie shown a one side love for boy and girl's as friendship only kind of thing. so end actually is making no sense wasted money and time watching the same story.... I would say this as 1 starred or even less movie, since I was watching the movie for fun not in mood of art movie or so.

The movie is seriuosly "Ek main aur ek tu" other than Imran and Kareena you cannot see anyone else..totally waste of money and time...Imran seriously needs to take some session in acting..

such a boring movie... the punches in the movie were a complete dud, they needed better script writers coz the hearing the dialogues it felt like they asked the actors to speak what ever comes to their mind. Could have done a lot better but did not. Waste of time and money.

A very boring movie with a very predictable track. We already knew what's going to happen next. In spite of this, the critics are giving this film 3-4 stars just because this happen to be a Karan Johar production. If favorable reviews are not given then they will not get invited to his parties in future. In fact critics are always out of sync with reality. There personal relationship with the maker is more important than the real issue on hand. These type of so called critics should get a resounding kick you-know-where.

I am just coming to see the movie & thought I have wasted the money. Imran acting was so boaring. Kareena got same rule to be happy & bubbly girl but still movie was pathetic. What the director was trying to achieve with this movie I don't know. It was one sided love story but very obvious plot. No need to waste your time. By the way saw the trailer of Houseful 2 which looks promising.

I think I love the story, it's nice fun and light movie to watch. it's fresh and not remake of What Happen in Las Vegas.Kareena do her best as always... if you don't like love story, then I'll try to understand why you don't like this one

Well i dont know what to write about this movie.I can say i am as clueless as the writer of the movie. Although i am too late commenting but going by the speed of the movie i am light years ahead. You need a recliner, wineglass and earbuds to enjoi this movie.

Imran gives same smug expression and is relegated to such roles as this, I have Luv Stories (also a KJo venture), JTYJN, etc. No variation at all. Ranbir is a class apart and has a better future compared to Khan. Kareena repeats her Geet act from Jab We Met. How long till KJo caricatures all of the NRI population? DVD watch only.
