It's the war of the roses. And it's as (t)horny as it can get. Splattered with bandooks and badmaashi, goondas and gaalis - starts this ajab prem kahani. Firebrands Parma (Arjun Kapoor) and Zoya (Parineeti Chopra) are childhood hate-mates, born into politically warring families who've avowed to hate unto death. So, in the rustic and earthy brown landscape of small-town Almore - where pocket guns are a fashion accessory, and local yokels could kill for anything - diesel or dancing girl Chand (Gauhar Khan), the Queen of 'Kwality Baar' - a love story blossoms between loveable rowdy rascal Parma and feisty, free-spirited Zoya. They growl at each other with the same fierce passion with which they grope each other and get-it-on. Most riveting in this love-hate plot, is the (fore)playful chemistry between the two, with their volatile verbal wars, and sexed-up lovemaking; even between chases and gunshots. Rare indeed to find such a beautifully complementing debut pair onscreen.
In an impressive debut, Arjun Kapoor believably plays Parma with dollops of arrogance, energy and unabashed guts; chomping with the same crudity with which he shoots, spits gaalis, pisses on posters, manhandles his girl and makes raw love. He uses his boy-man charm topped with that infectious 'batteesi' effectively, and keeps up the temperatures throughout.
Parineeti Chopra is fabulously effervescent. As the 'mango 'ishmile' flashing Zoya, she's adorable and admirable. She lacks the obvious, larger-than-life mega-screen presence, but wins you over with her 'item'bomb' simplicity.
Gauhar Khan 'reveals' a lot more, of her acting skills that is.
Director Habib Faisal takes you into the heart of this small-town story, creating a politically-divided Almore with elan - penning gripping characters (a rigid and arrogant Dadda, a suppressed, dukhiari Amma, two overbearing brothers), but fails to maintain the crescendo in the second half. After highlights like a sensitively shot lovemaking scene on a rusty train berth, a subtly picturized romantic song (Pareshan), and a shocking pre-interval scene, it starts falling apart like a house of cards; ultimately folding into a predictable climax.
The flatness of the second half is what takes away from the pace of a launch vehicle that could've been memorable.
'Ishaqzaade' starts with a bang-bang, but ends up firing blanks.

I am a person who watch any movie after atleast few people say something good about a movie!i am surprise!i haven't heard anything about this movie ,not good not bad,just a few weeks ago one of my friend asked me,did yoh watch Ishaqzade? I said no!then she said,oh!you didn't?it was a good movie,thn i thought ok,lets watch it and after watching this movie i was like! What? This movie should have top the chart! Should have got few awards!excellent movie! excellent acting by Arjun Kapoor and Pareneeti,Arjun does not look like a new comer in this movie! the way he act,looks like its his 4th 5th or something movie,Pareneeti's acting was very bold!suited her very good..theses newcomers are here to stay i guess,i am a new fan of both of them!!and off course credit goes to the,director and writter of the movie too!good luck all of you :)

during the time when the movie was in the theatres, Arjun kapoor became a fantasy for girls. Lots of firing, hatred and the strange love between two was an unusual concept which worked brilliantly. Nice item songs, nice acting by the two blockbuster stars of bollywood.

The plot is not new.. But the actors are new which brings freshness to the movie.. Arjun Kapoor and Pareniti Chopra acted well... The end is realistic... All in all a good watch...!!

In eighty's people like love stories. But everybody have seen too many love stories from Boby, Love Stroy, Kayamat Se Kayamat Tak, DIl etc. This is an ordinary film. The climax was........Headless Chicken. Today's generation like me are more pratical and they don't commmite suicide so easly. Acting was ok. But it is a B grade sex movie. If you like kiss scenes and sex then watch. Otherwise, waste of money and time. i still don't understand why actor like Parneeti did so many hot scenes in the film. She has lot of potential but still she did it? I have nothing to say about Arjun Kapoor because his future is bleek in Bollywood.

Well i think it was a god movie overall. Parineeti Chopra was fabulous. It was not another love story whrein the lover's parents are bitter enemies and the lover's elope. It was unique and more importantly a little more realistic

most of the movies are a work of fictions.This movie crosses all the limits of our imagination and becomes a headache.The acting was mediocre by lead actress ms chopda.She is nowhere close to be seen as an actress with the only exceptions of looks .Really bad n worthless ..

awesome movie. Parineeti deserves the best actress award. She was simply awesome. Movies deserve a better end but anyways it was good. And yes 1000s of round were fired but only 3 died in whole movie

an engaging movie which keeps u spell bound for the better part of the film. love is portrayed in the true sense, when it happens nothing matters- conditions, feuding families or materialistic comforts. the scene in the train post marriage is sensitively shot with true emotions ringing out despite the location of the happenings. parineeti is effervescent and extremely likeable. arjun promises a lot more. and their chemistry is spontaneous. great movie which is a must watch.

HORRIBLE...... HOPELESS...... OBNOXIOUS...... Is this same YASHRAJ FILMS that made VEER ZAARA....... Cant imagine Boney Kapoor's son and more over - my favorite at his peak - Anil Kapoor's nephew can debut with such a dirty character....... My GOD, look at the make up and the dirty acting he had to do....... Looked like a terrorist came from Afghanistan....... Never again am I going to watch any movie from this boy Arjun Kapoor....... Saw it last night and still recovering from the shock....... Wanted to leave the hall after half an hr. and even at interval....... but hoping something substantial may happen in 2nd half........ Can beleive this is the work of YASH RAJ FILMS....... Looks like they are not doing their homework well or focusing only on money by making films for rowdy and front benchers........ Or perhaps I am out of taste out of fashion and out of league now at 42...... This new generation is certainly beyond me....... Went to see only for Parineeti Chopra as I liked her work in her previous film Ladies V/s Ricky Behal....... May GOD ALMIGHTY save this BOLLYWOOD.

Not bad, I would say... the director has done the job, not even once I felt like sleepy... pariniti and arjun both were superb.. even arjun was looking so original tapori, for once I started having feeling like this guy is really bad until he truely asked sorry from pariniti.. Good job guys.. definitely one time watch..

Very good movie. Those who want to see love stories must go for it. Parineeti looks beautiful and good actor too. I feel its one of the heart-touching love stories shawn on cinema this days. DO go for it.
