The coffee shop at The Claridges is a small, intimate place with a pleasant meal-time buffet. However, every afternoon at tea-time, it metamorphoses into a powerhouse as politicos from the nearby Congress party office converge here for tea and samosas. Popular stand-bys on the menu are the Pear and Brie Salad, Pannacotta and Baby Spinach Salad, and Wiener Schnitzel - a typically Austrian escallope of deep-fried veal. Interesting burgers and sandwiches include the Classic Club Sandwich that has been served since the restaurant first opened. Kathi rolls, North and South Indian meals and a small choice of Oriental dishes make this cosy little coffee shop a great bet.
