Whichever way you look at it, La Piazza is a winner. It has an informal, trattorio-style restaurant with an open kitchen andrnone of the first wood-fired pizza ovens in the city. It doesn't even pretend to be formal and it certainly isn't pretentious and therein lies its success. The presiding chef is from Bologna, but La Piazza is far more than the sum of itsrnexpatriate chefs. Lunchtime turns it into a smart casual restaurant with a more-than-adequate salad buffet. You canrnorder your pasta and main course from the printed menu, or go for a pizza. At dinner time, it metamorphoses into arnromantic space, strongly reminiscent of Italy. Do look out for the periodic food festivals centred around visiting Italianchefs, some of them Michelin-starred.

The informal corner inside a lavish hotel and I love meeting my friends and business associated here. I love seeing their food preparation through the open kitchen. The Italian menu has many delicacies and my all time favorite is wood fired pizzas and Tiramisu. La Piazza is relaxing and entertaining.

La Piazza is one of the many Italian restaurants in Delhi. It has extraordinary food, the drinks are said to be nice and the the ambience is decent. However last week my experience wasn't as good as I expected.
Our Caprese salad was excellent, but they forgot to serve us water. We had to repeatedly ask for our drinks and it seemed that our waiter was over worked. Also, my spaghetti aglio olio was bland and not very appetising. I wanted to change it and it toke me a while to get the attention of the waiter. They substituted it with another spaghetti with mixed cream and tomato sauce, which was excellent. Their Pizza La Piazza, which is said to be one of their signature dishes, was good as usual. However, getting extra plates and cutlery seemed to be a Herculean task, which it need not have been. We topped our meal with their Chocolate Bomb desert, which was worth the wait. Our bill also took a long time to come, and if only La Piazza had allocated waiters to tables in a more focused manner, our experience would have been less annoying and more hearty. On the whole, a good restaurant which desperately needs better service.
