The coffee shop at Hotel Ashok has everything from aperitifs to regular spirits and wines on offer. However, it fails on one count: it doesn't have a USP. The “Warmers” are tepid, and the Mushroom Soup even more so. But the “Fillers” are passable - in the Fish Fingers, Cheese Balls and Paneer Pakodas league - but the Mushroom Fondue deserves a try. A welcome addition at The Coffee Shop is the low-calorie option that it has to offer: Soya Biryani, multi-grain bread, fresh juice, sugar-free desserts and natural lassi. But, if you're looking for real Espresso and South Indian Filter Coffee, the ones available here are unlikely to appease your taste buds. Service is sarkari. Is that surprising?
