Adjacent to Fatehpuri Mosque, this confectionery is a mithailover's paradise. Cooked in pure ghee, the sweets are all in high demand. The most famous of them all is Karachi Halwa that hardly anyone does anymore. Other popular items are Sewa Pak, Moti Pak, Doda, Pinni, Laddoo Besan, Patissa, Sohan Halwa, Balu Shahi and Kaju Burfi. Chaina Ram has a whole range of namkeens too: Kaju, VIP Navratan Mixture, Special Navratan Mixture, Dalmoth, Aloo ka Lachchha and Moong ki Dal. There's also Puri Chhole for breakfast. The place for those who have a craving for something sweet!

Right next to a Mosque, the smell mithais made in pure Ghee of Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners touches the senses and tempts me to have these delicacies. Patissa, Laddoo Besan, Kaju Barfi everything is just irresistibly good. Also they have a whole collection of Namkeens that are great for winter munching. Puri Chole is something that makes up for a good breakfast food. Every time I come to this area Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners is my must come to place.

yesterday, 13th July 2012, i went to chaina ram (fatehpuri) to get a taste of their esteemed ghever. i was surprised to see the mad crowd at the shop jostling and shouting to get a box of ghever. i too joined the ghever struggle, and after twenty minutes of sweating i was proud owner of a half kg ghever box. but after reaching home, when i tasted my prize i was disappointed. ghever was not properly cooked, the round frills on the edge tasted like raw maida, the middle portion tasted like half cooked. though quality of ingredients was very good, but over all taste was disappointing. looks like greed to sell more is taking over the commitment for quality. Very sad for such a reputed craftsman.
