Since the makeover, this restaurant has had a change in fortunes. Decorated with original watercolours of William and Thomas Daniell, the menu recreates their journeys in a few states like Coorg, Madras, Lucknow and Kolkata. With such an ambitious concept in place, sometimes the food is not as authentic as it would be in a regional restaurant. Two of the best-sellers include Chicken Railway Curry and Chingri Malai Curry. On the plus side, the surroundings are as gracious as anything you can find in the city, the service is excellent and it is a great place to take overseas guests to. Moverover, its location in the centre of the town and the fact that you can get a guided tour of the lithographs, right in the midst of a running restaurant, makes it an unusual choice for a chic dinner. It is certainly popular with foreign tourists.
