Old-timers like United Coffee House especially for snacks. This restaurant has its original décor intact — chandeliers and gold-leaf ceilings. Paneer Pakodas are favourite as are the Mince Samosas. It still serves Kona Coffee, rather old-fashioned true, but one that goes well with the image of the place. The recipe for the Cold Coffee with Ice Cream remains the same since the 1960s. Thai Prawn Curry, Sautéed Prawn, and Tomato Fish with Vegetables are mealtime specialities. Try the Chicken Chaat, Tomato Fish and Chicken a la Kiev. The old-world charm and the range of customers flocking here all day is an unbeatable one.

I had visited United Coffee House, Connaught Place, New Delhi, last week. I have few things to share about the experience. The service was shabby. And I mean really shabby.1. The waiters were dropping cutlery every time they opened the drawer. Thats not an issue per se, but using the cutlery that has been dropped on the floor to serve someone is not acceptable.2. Used plates and sizzler trays from other tables were kept right next to our table, on a sill like area.3. Waiters were clumsy and were dropping water on my feet when they were refilling my glass. Happened thrice, at least.4. Again, waiters were dropping used cutlery all over the table while picking our plates up.Thats about the service. Now to the food.1. I had placed an order for a BBQ cheese sizzler. While placing the same, I had asked the steward specifically, not to use any coriander in the preparation of the same, as I am allergic to it. The cottage cheese cutlet was full of coriander.2. The sizzler was lukewarm, at best, when it came in. A cold sizzler. Not very appetizing, dont you think? This is not befitting for UCH, as it isnt a restaurant, it is supposed to be an insitution. But then you also need to act like one. There is no way im returning to the place if I am going to be exposed to such shambolic experiences. A brand wont stick for too long if such incidents occur too many times.

This is one of the oldest places in CP. Yet classic. Food is great but the place is a little claustrophobic. Would advise going here only for the taste, if you are looking for good ambiance and environment then chuck it.

Second visit to this beautiful restaurant was very disappointing as far as food is concerned. Teppanyaki lamb with bell peppers was wrong choice. Meat was VERY tough - to the extend that half of it was left uneaten. Was it even lamb????? Kona coffee was very good and compensated partially for unpleasant and costly visit.
