Seated in the lovely courtyard, listening to water cascading down the fountain, you may quite forget that you are not in a little eatery in Tuscany, Italy as the name suggests. As in Italy, the waiters take great delight to help you select the wine to go with your food. Sea food lovers may try the Linguine Alla Aragosta (pasta tossed with an intensely flavored tomato sauce and lobster chunks). The slow cooked Chilean Pork complemented with Porcini Mushrooms is recommended. Or you could try a risotto or a pizza from their menu. Alas, their desserts do not match up.

My favourite Italian restaurant. Three good reasons - One, the delightful parmesan soup is rich and frothy and makes you want to come back again and again, even though I cannot finish the dish on my own. Two, the angel hair pasta with fresh tomato sauce and ricotta cheese, which is no longer on their menu, but they still make it for us every time we go. Three, the double espresso, which warms the heart and is a perfect way to end a meal when one has no space for desert. The other benefits include outdoor seating, which is so inviting during the monsoons and winter, the tasteful decor inside and the light Italian opera, the nameplates they put on the tables to make their regular guests feel special and most of all, the friendly staff who seem to enjoy the place as much as the guests.

Every time I and my friends are in CP we prefer visiting San Gimignano as the place is good for tasting new dishes. The waiters are very well acquainted with the menu and dishes and actually guides us through with perfection. Carpaccio di Manzo con Salsa di Turtufo e Acciuga is an excellent preparation. There are some Irish dishes also that are unique and tastes different than what I had till date. San Gimignano is a nice place for trying nice dishes with the help of attentive waiters.

San Gimignano according to me is the best Italian restaurant in the city. They offer simple and traditional Italian fare and make sure its outstanding. Another thing that stands out is the attention that is given to service. The waiters are extremely well informed and very attentive to your needs. While having dinner we were discussing how it was my friends birthday next week and what he was planning to do. The waiter took note of this and at the end of the meal got a cake for him saying it was from the restaurant. If you love Italian food, youll love San Gimignano.
