You could well be in Chennai, that's how strong the Tamil ambience at Saravana Bhavan is. Most other vegetarian restaurants from the South are actually from Karnataka, so our city has not been treated to the big daddy of them all: Tamil Nadu. Saravana Bhavan has a frills-free decor, quick service and is among the few restaurants which are open for breakfast as early as 8am. While the thalis are identical to the ones in Chennai, a few snacks available there are not served in Delhi. Full thali meals are served at mealtimes. Vadagam (rice crispies) and Mor Milagai (green chilli marinated in seasoned buttermilk and dried, served fried) are authentic. The Plantain Bajji is a sinful treat. Don't miss this gem that is only available at tea-time. Otherwise, there's always the more predictable fare to choose from: dosa, Sambhar Vada, Sambhar Idli, Set Dosa, Curd Rice, Tamarind Rice.... But, all in all, a must-visit.

Thats my only grouse! need to travel to Delhi to eat there.
Food is amazing, i would say the best Veg south Indian in Delhi. I usually go for the Thali which is grand in filling.
Regular stuff like dosas, idli, vada all great! Infact try some sweets there, especially the coconut barfi- my personal fav.
fresh fruit juice is another novelty. Dont miss this one if you are south indian food fan.
In fact i'm such a big fan that i also go to the original sarvana bhawan in Chennai- right from the airport:-)
