Swagath, owned by the management of Sagar Ratna chain of Udipi eateries, serves the coastal food of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, as it is served in the homes of the Saraswat community of that region. While Mumbai is full of Gomantak eateries, Delhi is represented by just one name Swagath. The food is seafood-based, extremely spicy and contains generous quantities of coconut. There are a few sub-heads Green Masala, Butter Pepper Garlic, Koliwada and so forth. Under each is a list of the seafood that the restaurant sells: Pomfret, Crab, Mussels, Prawns, Bombay Duck, Ladyfish, etc. You have to mix and match the style of cooking with the ingredient. There are dry preparations and gravies like Gassi, a coastal curry. The Defence Colony branch serves the best Butter Chicken in the city! Do try the Chicken Ghee Roast, an incendiary preparation. It has to be said that the Janpath Hotel outlet, managed by the owners themselves, is by far the best option of the lot: some of the other branches are franchised out.

This is a good place for having coastal food in this city. The food is so delicious that i can still feel the taste of it. Great spicy food like crab, promfret and prawns etc. I would love to visit again and with my friends.
