This gracious eatery has a terrific view of the city and serves Singapore-style Chinese food. The wonderful thing about Taipan is that it has a high degree of standardization so that while expatriate chefs may come and go, the kitchen has become surprisingly competent. You can't go wrong with their dim sums, which many consider to be the finest in the city. Highly recommended is the Crisp Duck with Five Spiced Crushed Peanuts, where the duck is melt in the mouth and the skin crisp. Fried String Beans with Minced Pork and Sichuan Chao Choi as well as Steamed Scallop with Minced Prawns and Shao Xing Sauce are other great picks. The current chef is from Beijing: a first for the restaurant. Stir- Fried Crispy Red Snapper with Sweet and Sour Sauce is his speciality. Don't miss it. You must either go there early or be a hotshot to grab a prized window seat.

Taipan is on the 10th floor - and looking out of the wide window into the far-flung city from such a altitude gives you a peaceful high, the feeling that you get having left the din of the city far below! And then their food arrives - and takes you even higher! Their crisp spinach is highly laudatory - it's something I have never had before! The crabmeat-asparagus soup was fine in taste; and the stir-fried lamb was an example in subtlety! Do try their impeccable coconut-icecream - their house specialty! And the service was all too attentive, yet not the least obtrusive. I would recommend to all for at least one visit, if more is not possible. They have a 'dim-sum lunch' option also, which I hear, is almost perfect.
Favorite Dishes / Drinks: Stir-fried lamb, Crisp spinach.

This place serves Singaporean style Chinese food to Chinese food loving delhiites. This place surely is good to visit, has an amazing ambience, but is a bit overpriced according to me. Its not affordable on a regular basis, but can be tried for a business lunch or a meeting with a client.
