I visited the Forgetful Elephant restaurant with my friends for the WC Cricket Final on 2nd April 2011. I paid a huge sum of money for an unlimited Food/Drinks Package (I am not sure if they have a license to serve Alcohol; coz they did not issue a bill against the money paid by us). However, my experience wasn't close to what I had expected of the restaurant. Half way through the match they stopped serving snacks and the restaurant staff disappeared. They later told us that they don’t have any snacks left. They served us an inferior quality of alcohol for the money paid by us.
Towards the end of the match they stopped servicing drinks and they switched off the Match screening right after the last ball was bowled. It was a very emotional and joyful moment for the entire nation and more than 100 cricket crazy fans were glued in the front of the TV screen to witness Indian team lift the cricket world cup.
The Manager and the restaurant owners (Sikh Brothers) were very rude and threaten us of consequences if we don’t go out of the restaurant. They in-fact had lined up 3-4 bouncers, who were manhandling the customers. We were willing to ignore the bad service, inferior quality of food & alcohol and everything else. However, the way they behaved towards the end made us think weather we should have gone there in the first place. It is a new restaurant and I’m not sure if these guys are even aware of how to run a restaurant and manage such events. We had women with us hence we decided not to engage in a fight and move out of the place without a refund for the money we had paid for the main course. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends/acquaintances in the future.
