If a textbook had to be written about the best way to run a restaurant and win plaudits, customers and brand loyalty, the first chapter would have to be on The Big Chill. It is a perfect example of ambience and food working in tandem. The outsize film posters that cover a couple of walls in each outlet, the choice of food and beverage, and the music mean that all outlets are perpetually crowded - waiting for a table is the norm. Pizzas, salads, pastas, shakes, smoothies, cakes and ice-creams are all done with the Big Chill flourish. Nothing is complicated or over the top, which is why you'll see grandparents, teens, the trendy, the expat, the desi - they all flock here.

Had a lunch gathering with a bunch of friends, a really nice hangout, was nearly packed, but managed a table, highly recommend the grilled chicken breast. Also tried the smoked chicken salad, baked chicken parmagiana and the mustard herb chicken, all really tasty. Chased it with a bottle of red wine. For dessert we ordered the apple pie and a molten chocolate baby cake...now time to hit the gym!
