The reviews of Leaky Cauldron prompted us to choose the restaurant for a cozy family dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Thanks to the concentration of many fashion boutiques and many more boutique restaurants, Hauz Khas village has turned itself into a complete maze, where finding Leaky Cauldron posed quite a challenge. Locals were the saving grace though with their right directions to the restaurant. Thus after walking till almost the end of the village, then sauntering through a dimly lit alley and climbing up two floors, we finally hit the place. The restaurant has two sitting options with limited seating capacity: air-conditioned indoors and an open terrace overlooking the famed Hauz Khas lake. We opted for the indoor section as the darkness outside would have denied us the great view of the lake as all other reviews harp about. Sitting on the terrace for lunch could be a great option in the early winter days I guess!
Leaky Cauldron serves Mexican, Italian and Thai cuisines…food from three countries widely apart and of three different genres under one roof! With such varied choices one could perhaps be more experimental with their taste buds. We ordered one portion of Zuppa Del Giorno with chicken, a freshly prepared Italian soup with a grand concoction of mushroom, broccoli, carrot, capsicum, onion but we requested to do away with parmesan cheese topping. One more portion of Tom Kha soup with chicken, prepared in classical Thai style with lemongrass and coconut milk was also savoured by us. Both the soup variants were delicious in quality and served in enough quantities to satiate two persons. Our next choice, Verdure Saltate, a vegetarian Italian combo was a charming appetizer and lapped up in haste by all of us. In the main course, we asked for the Mexican dish, Burrito, prepared with chicken, tomato, lettuce, spring onion, jalapeno and served with tortillas and rice. We also ordered a portion of Mee, a Thai delicacy prepared with rice noodles, seafood, cabbage, carrots and white soy sauce. Both the main courses were simply delectable. Honey pancakes served with split bananas were a light & easy dessert as the grand finale! The total bill for four of us of Rs.1876.00 only including a service charge 10% was the most pleasing surprise of the evening. Burp! Burp!!
All of us came to a singular conclusion of Leaky Cauldron's culinary excellence…they are doing a good job!
A 'Must' visit place in the ever expanding food map of Delhi…I would recommend Leaky Cauldron without any reservation.

On a very contrasting note to the review by "Madhuli", I have a completely contrasting opinion.
The service was well above any of the other restaurants in the vicinity. For a foodie who likes spicy stuff, it was damm good.
I liked the ambiance completely, it gave me a feel of having food from my home's balcony, (the plus point is that i dont have a balcony that is sea-facing or lake facing)
Favorite Dishes / Drinks: Thai Chicken Sate, Mexican Mini- Quesdillas

I went the Leaky Cauldron last week with some of my friends and I had an awful experience. The place certainly serves delicious food, but the service and ambiance are very bad. I didn’t like visiting there at all. The place was below average. The food was fine but not great.
