Al Jawahar Restaurant is perhaps destined to be always compared with Karim's and often unfavourably so. Judged independently, it is among the better eateries of Old Delhi. They have a neat and tidy separate place upstairs for families to sit in. Dal Gosht is really good. Mutton Seekh Kabab, Changezi Chicken, Kadhai Gosht and Kadhai Chicken are nice enough. Mutton Stew, Mutton Korma, Nargisi Burrah and Sheermal are its other attractions. Badam Pasanda and Keema Naan are just about passable. Overall, a good place to go when you crave for Mughlai food at down-to-earth prices.
