Amaravathi, the capital of Swarga (heaven), seems to have descended in Delhi. At least those fond of South India would feel so. Located in Hotel Southern, this restaurant has cuisine predominantly from Andhra, though it serves North Indian also. The rice that is served here, Sonama Suri, comes from Andhra Pradesh. The South Indian Thali is served conventionally on a banana leaf which comes from Andhra Pradesh. The specialities here include Hyderabadi Biryani, Amaravathi Andhra Thali, Chicken Amaravathi, Chicken Pepper Roast, Chicken Fry, Pepper Fish, Mutton Fry, the famous Nellore Chapala Pulusu or fish curry and Idiyappam. Kamat Southern Restaurant, also in this hotel, serves exclusively vegetarian Karnataka food.
