The cheerful owner of Manipur Restaurant greets you with all smiles. The sweetness of his smile seems to have its source inrnthe honey bees that can be found around the place! Don't go looking for authentic Manipuri dishes here as staple Chineserndishes rule the roost. As the active options in its ethnic menu, it has Bora (Pakoda), Mangal Angouba and Pakoda Thongba (Pakoda Curry). The Manipuri Special Thali can be tried if you are looking for something different. You may also go for EggrnThukpa, Pork Bamboo Shoots and Hong Kong Style Chicken. You might also check out the Pork Curry, Yen Angouba (Chicken Dry Fried) and Oaksha Angouba (Pork Dry-fried), which are so-so. The restaurant thrives more on its nominal regional appeal.

For tasting regional food and dishes of India right at the capital there are two places I love coming to, either Delhi Haat or the state houses. However, mostly it’s Delhi Haat and on last weekend I tried Manipuri food here.
The preparation, serving and taste all three aspects are quite different. I had Bora and Yen Angouba both were prepared using minimal oil and spices and yet they tasted really good. I completely enjoyed my visit to this eatery.
