With an enviable location in the shade of the Qutub Minar, Olive is a stunning restaurant, and the pioneer of alfresco dining. Now known as much for its gourmet menu and good looks, it has a wood-fired pizza oven that is used for baking the bread that is served at your table, hot from the oven. Lunch is a truncated affair with salads and pizzas. Dinner is far more grand. The house special is their Goat's Cheese Souffle, twice baked with Chilli Caramel Pecan Nuts, balsamic reduction and cheese salsa. A hot favourite is Foie Gras and Confit of Duck Leg with caramelized apples, spicy blood orange reduction. There's a trace of molecular cooking in the Reconstructed Salad Caprese with bocconcini, "new way" tomato, rocket leaves, pesto and olive oil. In fine weather, few things are more pleasant than enjoying a wedge of thin-crust pizza and a glass of chilled Chablis in the courtyard.
