Nawabganj Safari seems to have come straight out of the Jungle Book. The restaurant has a tropical rainforest setting. The interior is done in plastic green leaves and trunks with a glazed touch. A monkey, an elephant with a missing trunk and a giant-size king cobra - all the jungle animals make a presence. And there are sound effects to match the environment. On the food front, they take you to an era of shahi khansamas. But the primarily Awadhi food is not as impressive as the decor. Chandni Tikka - it's a Chicken Tikka - and Galouti Kebab are just about average. The others worth trying out are Sabut Chooza, Mutton Biryani, Murgh Shahi Patiala, Paneer Dum Roll, Matar Methi Malai, Paneer Khatta Pyaaz, Murgh Zartar, Kareli Gosht, Jhinga Roda Masala and Dal Makhni. End your meal with either Gulkand Rasmalai or Elaichi Jamun. Go for this nawabi-style Safari. The roaring elephant at the entrance beckons you to come again and again.
