MerCurries may not send your temperatures soaring but it is one of the better restaurants in NFC for the compulsive North Indian foodie. The fiery decor, which is also dark and dingy, borders on the kitschy. MerCurries' USP lies in putting up a new menu every day and serving unlimited helpings of food. All this, to the accompaniment of dimly-lit interiors, steel flooring, a techno-effect, and a DJ belting out some heavy-metal music. The motifs on the walls and the ceiling depict the solar system, but the food is more down-to-earth. In fact, the fare - Afghani Murgh, Reshmi Kabab, Garlic Kabab - is as earthy as it gets. MerCurries has recently added a few offerings to its repertoire: Mutton Burrah, Kakoris and Sikandari Raan, besides Nihari, Prawn Kababs and Ulte Tawe Ke Parathe. Also worth a shot is the Kalmi Kabab, Paneer Tikka Lababdar, Dhaba Chicken and Kesar Kali Mirch Ka Murgh. Despite these additions, it's Punjabi fare for the most part. The Rajouri Garden branch is a franchise, which serves an a la carte menu - but not a patch of the NFC original!
