The brainchild of a fashion designer, Gelato Vinto has metamorphosed into an all-India brand from the one-store outlet that it started out with some years ago. Today, almost every major mall that you walk into has a Gelato Vinto counter dispensing a variety of Italian-style gelati in flavours that keep changing with the season. Summer is their most interesting period as they do gelati and sorbetti, using summer fruits like custard-apple, jamun and melon. Fresh mango and fresh strawberry are available around the year, thanks to technology. However, to the average regular customer, the brand is known for its permutations and combinations of chocolate. Chocolate Fudge Cake, White Chocolate with Cherry, Caramel with Chocolate, Coffee Caramel, Wild Berry and White Chocolate - it is an exhaustive list that takes cognizance of vegetarians (no egg in any of the gelati) and those with special dietary requirements (at least two choices that are sugar-free).
