Jerry Wong's was named after a Kolkata Chinese gentleman who has set up this small, homely restaurant. Though Wong himself is not there personally, his staff does a good job of the master's home-style Hakka food, and also regular Chinese food of the Chicken with Hot Garlic Sauce variety. Mah MeeSoup is as clear as glass, but is packed with flavour and is a masterpiece. Chah Sau Chicken is made with home-made rice wine. Also, the Mongolian BBQ Prawns, the Squirrel Fish and the Mizutaki Soup are done to great perfection. The signature dishes remain Cherry Honey Chicken, Nutty Chicken, Buddha's Delight and Red Pepper Prawn. With the advent of the corporate era and huge malls and restaurants springing up, however, this modest eatery can still hold its own.
