It‘s very dark, smoky and not really top-of-the-mind when you think of nightspots in Bangalore. Still, Purple Haze has its fans, especially serious lovers of hard rock. It‘s nowhere like the newer, cooler pubs; this one is all dimly lit with only the pictures of rock legends lighting up the space. You wouldn‘t find the trendy set here; and some people wouldn‘t be caught dead at PH. But there are others who find a reasonably priced pitcher of beer, a plate of Masala Peanuts or French Fries and Kurt Cobain blaring in the background the best way to spend an evening.

Right next to the main south campus Purple Haze is a decent restaurant to come to and most of the time it is the college going crowd that can be seen hanging around in this place. In fact, the interior has been made up to suite the college crowd only, low lighting and posters of rock legends hanging on the walls. On the menu, they have reasonably rated beer and other cocktails as well as light munching for accompanying the drinks. I usually grab a beer and French Fries with my old college friends to have a nostalgic time at the Purple Haze.
