Common or garden desi food in swanky surroundings
It is difficult to keep up with Gurgaon's exploding restaurant scene. This one is in an office block with a Maruti Suzuki showroom on the ground floor.
Atmospherics: Indian Grill Room is probably one of Gurgaon's largest restaurants. 8,000 sq ft inside, 10,000 outside, it has a show kitchen, bar seating around a smaller open kitchen, a private dining room inside and three gazebos on the superb terrace. With a well-stocked bar and well-appointed interiors, it is a good place for business meals.
Table Talk: the concept is a take-off on The Great Kebab Factory. If you are seated inside the restaurant, you'll get one kebab per person, then a chicken gravy dish, a dal, raita and biryani. You can eat your fill of everything in theory. In practice, service is nowhere near as brisk as it should be, so approximately half your time is spent waiting for food. By the time you decide to have a repeat, you have to call your waiter and start the process all over again. The best non-vegetarian kebab was the Lucknavi galouti. The Goan chicken cafreal was far removed indeed from the original; the Kashmiri tabak maaz had too much souring agent in it, the chicken kalmi kebab was pleasant if unmemorable. None had the freshness and succulence one would associate with a kebab-led restaurant.
The recipe for black dal could do with some tweaking: there was far too much tomato in it. The biryani had way more garam masala than it need have and the supposedly Parsi lagan nu chicken lacked the sharp sweet and sour flavours of Parsi cooking. However, all these are relatively minor glitches in a brand new restaurant, which get sorted out in the first fortnight of operations.
Plus and minus: The terrace is in a sort of wind funnel vis a vis the neighbouring buildings, so it catches the breeze during the evening hours. In another month, mist fans and airconditioning for the gazebos will make it a grand venue for small private parties, with one waiter, chef and barman attending to your group.
Recommendations: There is a table d'hote menu that changes every month. You are served everything on it for a fixed price.

Excellent Restaurant where the food was simply delicious esp. the Starters . Atmosphere was very modernized and yet traditional.Indian Grill Room has it all good ambiance, great food, peaceful surrounding, amazing people who do not disturb you every single min, etc etc. The food is exquisite, service one of the best I have come across.
I would recommend this restaurant to people who want a real taste of India with a modern ting.I would like to come back here again and again and will definitely like to get my more and more friends and for sure I want to recommend this place to all indian food lovers.

I went to this restaurant with my family to had great non-vegetarian dishes and luckily we found it a good choice for our dinner. I liked Kebabs which was very tasty and unforgettable. The ambiance is quite good and the prices will not attack on your pocket, so have fun and try this amazing place once.

We went to this restaurant on friday to celebrate my birthday - was pleasantly surprised to see a restaurant at this scale especially indian. The outdoor area is fantastic it had great sufi music playing and we were lucky to be in good weather..
They have just opened three weeks back so i could see slightly nervous service staff !
Shifted to the restaurant for a meal - had too much to eat ! and some amazing desserts ! at a reasonable price –( for the quality of the ambience) - overall a birthday well spent.
Favorite Dishes / Drinks: Tabak Maas , Gilavat kebab - the gulab kheer - dessert!!
