Popular for its thalis, The Rajasthani and the Gujarati Thali are worth trying for their sheer authenticity. Even the mall outlets turn out great food: Gujarati and Rajasthani are their core competence; North and South Indian offer good value for money. Other great options are the Pao Bhaji, the Vada Pao and the Khandvi. The taste of authentic Gujarati fare in the midst of a Punjabi bastion is pleasantly startling. The service is warm and hospitable. Suruchi doesn’t disappoint with its desi fare, rather it’s good stuff, especially its Dal Bati Churma and Gatte ki Subzi. Not a single concession has been made to the North Indian palate: the Gujarati Thali is uncompromisingly authentic.
