As the name suggests this is a typical zouth Indian resto-bar with more of a family crowd thronging this place. You get a view of the historic Qutub Minar, which is the USP of the place. The tables are decorated with the popular houseboats from Kerala. South Indian staff from four different states, dim lighting in the evening, rangoli at the entrance, a see-through kitchen, LCD displaying summary of Kerala and the most talked about foods recipes of the state add to the feel of the South Indian experience. Popular cocktails are the Mojito, Green Apple Martini and Margarita and for mocktails try the Tangerine Mojito, Litchi Tini and Melon Blush. The Mushroom Pepper Fry, Chettinad Potato Roast, Madras Onion Dal Vada, King Prawn Stir Fry, Mutton Sukka and Chicken Ghee Roast are all recommended.

RedVelvet has been visiting this restaurant since it first opened its doors a couple of years ago. At first it was a confused product: South Indian food for North Indian dummies. Suddenly, they hired a chef called Arun Kumar and the quality has risen by leaps and bounds. Arun Kumar is from Kerala and has had no formal training in culinary matters: all he has is passion and it is evident in the menu. Do not miss the superb Shark Puttu, a minced shark preparation, lightly spiced. There are dishes aplenty for the vegetarians as well as for avowed meat eaters. If you can't make up your mind about what to order, go with the thali and you will get a dozen different dishes to try. When the chutneys arrive on the table, tuck into them. You will never see them in any other South Indian restaurant, only in homes. Fish curry with appams, mutton fry, prawns in the Andhra Pradesh style (Royalu Igguru) and plenty of other dishes that you may never even have heard of. Between meal times, they serve idlis and dosas, but they are a strict no-no during lunch and dinner. Sit in the rice boat inside the restaurant and the noise of the mall will be far away. The chef is based in the Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, so that is the one to try in preference to the Gurgaon branch
