Serene Water, a rocky beach, trawlers in suspended motion-a view with a difference. This is another part of Goa, for lovers of trance and Progressive music. A walk down the flea market and you reach the place conceptualized by Edwin Nunes. A one storey wooden structure perched against a cliff, a laterite form of a woman's head covered with plants, sun worshippers lying supine along the beach - it's a groovy way of enjoyment at Curlies. The structure and seating is basic but the action is hectic. From breakfast to the wee hours of the morning the music beat lures you into its fold. And the menu too has everything you can ask for. A wide choice of mixes - beat your chest like Tarzan as you sip on Jungle Juice (local feni with limca and spice), perhaps a Woo-woo (vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice) when the music has penetrated your senses, or just go natural with the traditional Sex on the Beach. And if you think that the menu has nothing to offer for the 'food cravings' just think again. As the fluorescent colour decor adds to the bohemian feeling feast on Beef Carpaccio or the Ginger Battered Calamari with apricot chutney. And if colour is your need of the hour the Mustard Fish or the Pomegranate Marinated Chicken in white wine sauce would clear away the blues. Hot favourites are the steaks, tempura prawns, momos, fish fingers and of course the lobster. Thursdays and Saturdays are Trance Nights. Down a shot of Innocent Sex (sambucca, bullseye and orange liqueur) or a straight one of Tequila. Move onto the sandy dance floor and let the music rumble through your very being. You could be left with a lot of psychedelic musings the morn after.

While strolling around the city i don't know how but somehow I reached Curlies Bar and Restaurant. Even though this place looks pretty ordinary and there is not much to talk in term of interior or decor but still something is very nice about this place, something very calming and relaxing.
The menu has good drinks to taste and in food i loved the Pomegranate Marinated Chicken in white wine sauce. Curlies Bar and Restaurant is a good discovery and I am going again soon.

A friend of mine introduced me to this place. It was the first time I visited it. On entering the place I found it okay, not very impressive. The music was being played at the background which took away half of my attention. On menu are a wide array of drinks and dishes which I liked the most. It gives you a large variety to choose from. The drinks and the food both were good. All in all a nice place to visit.
