Zappa's Shack sits on the sand dunes on the picturesque Candolim beach and is a good place to hangout with a sweeping view of the panoramic beachscape. You can sit either inside the restaurant shack or dine outside on the sands, specially in the evenings. The food is also quite good here, with a wide variety of dishes available. Most people though come here for their splendid seafood. A modest serving of tiger prawns, done in sauce of your choice, will cost around Rs. 350 depending on the season, the catch being always fresh, though the portions are a bit small. With the shack being frequented by the European charter tourists crowd, you should try the seafood done in lemon butter garlic sauce which nicely retains the flavour of the seafood. But they also have spicier Goan preparations and Tandoori Seafood, which are also excellent. There's always a good choice of seafood available, from lobsters to crabs, pomfrets and kingfish, besides other seafood like mussels. They are also well-known for their juicy Beef Steaks and European-style breakfasts and pastas. And if you're in the mood for some North Indian food with the rich gravies, they have that too, all done reasonably well. Plus Goan and Chinese food, too.
