It used to be the only place in Goa where you could make a telephone call in Goa in the 90s. The place was Casino. The Bar and Restaurant is located in a quiet lane near the O'Coqueiro junction on the road to Calangute. This resto-bar is a good place to head to if you're in the Porvorim area and want some heart-warming food. They offer good Goan fare. Ignore the not-quite-good decor and setting of the first floor eatery for the sake of digging into some of the best Goan food in the area. With a full stocked bar to raise up your spirits order a portion of fish cutlets. For mains their Pomfret fry and Fish Curry Rice together make for an unforgettable meal. As is their Shark rawa fried. You'll like most of their classic pork and beef (chili fry, roast tongue) to name a few, Chicken dishes like the cafreal, the Beef Steak, and local Goan favourites like the Pork Sorpotel are a 'must order'. During season the stuffed crabs are a 'must try' preparation. The menu is balanced by a few North Indian and Chinese items too. Ask for a packing order if needed, but make sure to place the order in advance as the wait is long, but remember the Goan food is worth waiting for.

I was introduces to Casino Motels Bar & Restaurant by a real close friend of my few months back as it is located in not so obvious place. However, the interior and Goan cuisine served here made me a fan of this restobar. Their Fish Curry Rice is one of the best in taste that I have tasted across this city. Their taste of Chicken Cafreal leaves me craving for more. As a matter of fact, this restaurant is also good with their North Indian food. Casino Motels Bar & Restaurant is good and its location of surely surprising.
