Head to the Wooden Bridge for some innovative and fantastic world food which will leave you salivating for more. It's run by Raj who was earlier in Candolim, but now runs this place which is yet to become really popular. The accent is on gourmet food with a modern touch, and it works admirably well. The menu is small but there's enough for everybody in the family. We recommend the Pork a la Orange, pork chop in a spell-binding Cointreau liquer-orange juice sauce, which will simply leave you dazzled. Or the Roast Lamb with red wine gravy. There's lots more, like the American speciality Crumb- fried Chicken, Stuffed Sardines, Smoked Chicken and Blue Cheese Salad, Grilled Lobster with thermidor sauce (Rs. 1100), Grilled Bass with vierge sauce, a Mixed Veg Lasagne, etc. All completely superb, though the portions are a bit on the modest side, and the prices on the higher side. They also have some North Indian dishes like Aloo Gobi, etc, which you can enjoy in the alfresco garden restaurant.

The not-so-vast menu has been able to hold on many loyalists like me who love coming here from time to time. No matter what they do they do it perfectly. Crust-Fried Chicken, Grilled Lobster and Pork chops are what they are perfect in making and the few north Indian dishes also tastes decent enough.

Last week was my friend’s birthday and we wanted to have dinner at some nice and cool place. Unfortunately, everything was booked except the Wooden Bridge, which is at Bardez. We all were going there for the first time. Fortunately, the ambiance was quite calm and soothing. It was comfortable and all of us got settled easily. Waiters were polite and quick. As we got settled down, we got the water and menu. Though menu was small, but food was nice. We ordered Pork a la Orange, pork chop, fried Chicken and Smoked Chicken with Blue Cheese Salad. Food was served soon and was looking tempting and delicious. We started and yes! Food was tasty. I find the place perfect for the dinner.
